Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Data Analyst to support data management and relational database development across projects. You will perform data acquisition, analysis, visualization, and governance to ensure high-quality data deliverables in line with corporate standards.

The role involves creating workflows, documenting sources, and collaborating with laboratories and teams to ensure data integrity and effective reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS/geography/data science/environmental science/engineering/computer science or related field, or 4+ years’ related experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with database management systems.
• Familiarity with relational databases and various programming languages.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Research, acquire, compile, and compare data from public and proprietary sources.
• Perform data cleanup, processing, verification, and upload to enterprise and relational database management systems.
• Implement technical workflows.
• Document project data workflows, data sources, and data limitations.
• Perform QA/QC review of data.
• Promote data stewardship, governance, and integrity.
• Assist in development and implementation of relational database management systems.
• Assist in development, automation and implementation of data workflows.
• Create and configure tools for field data collection or data review.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, loading and visualizations.
• Enhance existing systems and workflows with tools.
• Extract data from image and PDF sources.
• Develop data tables and reporting products.
• Review data processing for efficiency.
• Coordinate with laboratories for electronic data deliverables.

Description

Provide data management and relational database development support for projects and initiatives across Terracon services. Implement enterprise and relational database management systems. Perform data acquisition, data management, data analysis, and data visualization in support of projects and corporate initiatives. Determine appropriate data sources and methods, develop technical workflows and create technical reporting products. Support field data collection efforts by providing and configuring appropriate tools to meet accuracy and attribution criteria. Responsible for ensuring data governance and data integrity and developing technical documentation and training, as appropriate. Ensure that all data deliverables meet a high level of quality and comply with corporate standards.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, data science, environmental science, engineering, computer science or related field. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4 years’ related experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with database management systems.
• Familiarity with relational databases and various programming languages.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
