JOB TITLE: Data Analyst – Full-time Temporary (Contract - 6 months)
LOCATION: Remote
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time Temporary, Non-Exempt
PRIORITY DEADLINE: April 18, 2025
COMPENSATION: $36.50/hour
DIVISION: Finance and Operations
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
REPORTS TO: Information Technology Systems Manager
SUPERVISES: None

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar quantitative field
  • Experience with SQL and/or relational databases
  • Experience working with formulas, pivot tables, data connections, and visual basic macros in Excel
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Java, JS, and SQL
  • Proficiency in database management, automation, and delivering high-quality data analyses
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in database architecture, design, and support

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position assists with knowledge-based decision-making within the institution. This cross-functional role interacts with Institutional Research and Information Technology to identify, query, and extract records from our databases. Utilizing advanced statistical and analytical methods, this position investigates complex issues, identifies and solves problems, and supports informed decision-making across the college. This position writes and validates simple and complex queries using SQL for the successful extraction of data from source systems, including data retrieval and reporting tools. This position also supports document management workflow efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in building and maintaining databases, data structures, and reports
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data
  • Assist the Institutional Research and Information Technology departments to ensure internal and external stakeholders have access to high-quality reports, dashboards, and visualizations of institutional and operational data for decision-making
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand data requirements
  • Collaborate with database administrators to ensure data security and compliance
  • Create technical documentation
  • Identify data quality issues and suggest improvements
  • Learn various business processes and cross-functional workflows to define system requirements, write specifications to solve problems, and execute solutions.
  • Write scripts to implement workflows within document management software

  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check
  • Federal Criminal History Background Check
  • Training Certificate - Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English
  • Ability to remember and understand instructions and guidelines

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Office Location: Remote
  • Work hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Friday
  • Contract employees are expected to work a minimum of 37 hours per week.
