Job summary

Morningstar is seeking a Business Data Analyst to bring analytical rigor to our product efforts across Morningstar Investor and Morningstar.com. You will own data analytics architecture, reporting, forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance product and marketing strategies.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in data analytics or BI.
• Strong SQL querying and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency with Google Marketing Platform (Analytics, Ads, Looker Studio).
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, QuickSight, Looker Studio).
• Analytical skills in forecasting, modeling, and trend analysis.
• Ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience with AWS (Athena, Redshift, QuickSight) for analysis.
• Familiarity with A/B testing tools and tracking platforms.
• Programming in Python or R for advanced analysis.
• Knowledge of subscription-based business models and retention metrics.

Responsibilities

• Track and analyze KPIs across Morningstar Investor and Morningstar.com.
• Build and evolve dashboards for trials, subscribers, engagement, and on-site behavior.
• Consolidate data from sources like Google suite, Redshift, Stripe, and AWS into automated reports.
• Collaborate with engineering to surface and analyze insights.
• Monitor data from third-party sources for accuracy and reliability.
• Define targets and use data to optimize acquisition, engagement, and retention.
• Conduct cohort analysis and LTV modeling to guide product investments.
