Job summary

Eurasia Group, headquartered in New York, is seeking a Data Analyst within Finance and Business Insights to deliver high-impact insights, build scalable data products, and support data-driven decision making across the business.

The Business Analytics team is seeking a Data Analyst with strong business acumen and SQL skills to deliver high-impact insights and build scalable solutions. This role blends technical execution (data development, automation, dashboards) with financial and commercial goals (financial analysis, interpreting results, supporting data driven decision-making). The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable operating independently, partnering directly with business stakeholders, and taking ownership of analytical solutions from development through deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership

• Partner with Finance and other stakeholders to turn vaguely-formed ideas into business questions with clear goals, deliverables, and success metrics.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis.
• Develop dashboards within Power BI and present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Data & Analytics Development

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data models, reporting layers, and analytical solutions using SQL and dbt.
• Develop and deploy production-ready code through Git-based workflows and standard CI/CD processes.
• Independently troubleshoot data issues, improve data quality, and resolve discrepancies across source systems, transformations, and reporting layers.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and maintain documentation for datasets, business definitions, and transformation logic.

Qualifications (Required)

• 5-7 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, finance analytics, or a related role.
• Advanced SQL expertise and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience with dbt and Git version control, including contributing production-ready code through standard development workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to independently research, troubleshoot, and implement technical solutions with minimal day-to-day technical oversight.
• Logical, analytical thinker with strong finance and business acumen (comfort with KPIs, P&L concepts, budgeting/forecasting, and business performance drivers).
• Experience creating dashboards (preferably Power BI) and communicating insights to non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environmen t.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting FP&A, commercial, revenue operations, or professional services analytics.
• Experience working in small or growing analytics teams with end-to-end ownership of analytical solutions.
• Ability to apply an 80/20 mindset to prioritize high-impact, pragmatic solutions.
• Experience using Python for automation and analytical workflows.

The applicable base salary range (in the US only) for this role is $90,000 to $110,000

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
