Job summary

Auto Club Enterprises is seeking a Data Analyst - Finance to support analytics within Finance operations. The role requires data processing, report development, and scripting in Python and SQL. You will build tools and dashboards, analyze trends, and suggest improvements while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

The position emphasizes experience with AWS, Snowflake, and data visualization, operating under guidance from a Senior resource. Strong SQL and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years experience in a data/analytics environment.
  • Strong SQL, Python or R, and data reporting skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills including VBA and macros.
  • Experience with Tableau and data mining desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop SQL scripts and long‑term reporting across tools and languages.
  • Identify trends and provide root-cause analysis with solutions.
  • Create ad hoc data analyses from multiple data sources.
  • Design and maintain predictive churn models and dashboards.

Job description

Data Analyst - Finance

The Data Analyst provides analytical and organizational support to the Finance operations/management. They are proficient in data processing and report development, as well as scripting languages, including Python and SQL. Capable of creating, developing, testing, and deploying highly adaptive tools and reports used to support business. Responsible for conducting data analysis, analyzing trends, and creating visualizations and dashboards. The Data Analyst will be expected to understand established procedures and recommend improvements. The Data Analyst can self-manage tasks, projects, and complete them in a timely manner under general supervision.

Job Duties
  • Under general supervision develop SQL scripts and long-term reporting using a variety of data analysis tools / languages (SQL, Teradata, Tableau, and Excel).
  • Identify and analyze trends with root cause analysis while providing solutions.
  • Provide ad hoc data analysis in a variety of source systems and using a variety of data analysis tools/ languages (SQL, Teradata, Tableau, Excel, Access).
  • Design, build, and maintain a predictive churn model.
  • Develop internal reports on key indicators of churn, including ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Organize projects clearly with accurate plan for speed of delivery of initiatives.
  • Document existing and newly created processes for implementation in production systems.
  • Meet with Team and Management concerning semi-complex production reporting and enhancements.
  • Provides detail regarding challenges and offer solutions and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other Business Units such as Big Data, Marketing, and Product Management to accomplish common goals and objectives.
  • This position operates under close guidance of a Senior resource.
  • Work requires extensive knowledge in AWS, Snowflake, and SQL databases with data mining knowledge as well as data visualization through Tableau.
  • Work regularly requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment in areas such as:
    • Querying large data sets, validating data, and performing User Acceptance Testing.
    • Developing specialized reports/dashboards.
    • Troubleshooting data issues.
    • Developing solutions to complex data issues.
    • Formulation of calculations to compute incentives, goals, forecasts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years Experience in a traditional data or analytics corporate environment.
  • 1-3 years Experience in providing qualitative or quantitative data compilation, analysis and reporting.
  • 1-3 years Experience with manipulating data with SQL, Python, R or related technologies.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong SQL skills with data mining knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel skills (incl. VBA, macros, complex calculations, etc.).
  • Tableau preferred.
  • Python preferred.
  • Experience in statistical churn model a plus.
  • Able to rapidly learn new processes, databases, applications.

The starting pay range for this position is: $74,500.00 - $99,500.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
