Job summary

Cornerstone Research is seeking a Data Analyst in the United States to join case teams supporting complex litigation, regulatory investigations, and financial disputes. You will build and clean large datasets, run econometric analyses, and deliver reproducible data outputs from ingestion to final deliverable.

The role emphasizes SQL, Python or R, Bash/CLI/Git, and collaboration in a hybrid office setting with training from our Data Science Center.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MA/MS in a quantitative field; strong academic performance expected.
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience with data analysis, econometrics or programming.
• Strong ability to manipulate structured datasets, identify data quality issues, and produce clean outputs.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and analysis; experience with relational databases.
• Proficiency in Python or R; understanding of statistics in business contexts.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Experience with large datasets (terabytes, not gigabytes).
• Comfort with Bash/CLI/Git; high attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Execute exploratory and econometric analyses on case data to accelerate time-to-insight.
• Own end-to-end data workflows: ingestion, cleaning, transformation, validation of large datasets.
• Build, document, and maintain data infrastructure and pipelines for reproducibility.
• Translate case strategy into structured, well-documented data outputs with independent judgment.
• Uphold coding standards and reproducibility across the case lifecycle; act as technical reference on data decisions.
• Lead escalation and resolution when technical issues arise.
