Job summary

The Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) Data Office seeks a contracted data analyst to collate, organize, analyze, and report performance metrics to support strategic management decisions and compliance across programs such as Social Service, Family Investment, and Child Support.

You will develop interactive dashboards using Power BI and other BI tools, analyze complex datasets, and coordinate data extraction from state systems.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
• Notes: 1. 30 college credits per year of experience up to four years.
• Notes: 2. Bachelor's degree plus two years of experience may substitute for the required experience.
• Notes: 3. Master's degree may substitute for the required experience.
• Notes: 4. U.S. Armed Forces staff experience may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Power BI and other BI tools to develop interactive dashboards and data visualizations for strategic decisions.
• Analyze complex datasets using Excel and other tools to identify trends and insights.
• Coordinate data extraction from multiple state systems for reporting.
• Share data insights with program partners and stakeholders as needed.
• Respond to data requests from DHS leadership and external partners, including Governor’s office and legislative bodies.
