Job summary

The New York State Department of Financial Services seeks a Data Analyst 3 in the Office of Responsible AI Safety & Education (RAISE). You will analyze trends in data sources, design data schemes for ingesting semi-structured data, and translate technical details into clear reports for attorneys and policymakers.

You will lead technical discussions with frontier model developers, review current systems, and supervise staff.

Qualifications

• SQL and Python or R proficiency for cleaning, joining, and analyzing data.
• Knowledge of frontier AI evaluation, security, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate analysis of data trends from RAISE Act submissions.
• Design data schemas and validation workflows for semi-structured data.
• Review data sources and provide complex analyses and reports.
• Translate technical details into clear briefings for attorneys and policymakers.
• Lead discussions with frontier model developers to support DIGIT and DFS teams.
• Supervise a team of staff.
