Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data Management and Manipulation

    • Manage and manipulate mostly structured data
    • Perform normalization operations and assure data quality


  • Business Intelligence Tools

    • Build business intelligence tools
    • Conduct analysis to distinguish patterns and recognize trends


  • Data Specifications and Solutions

    • Create specifications to bring data into a common structure
    • Develop data solutions to support analyses


  • Analysis and Interpretation

    • Perform analysis and interpret results
    • Develop actionable insights and present recommendations for use across the company


  • Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements
    • Develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids, and business case analysis to support the organization


  • Delivery of Analytics

    • Produce and manage the delivery of activity and value analytics to stakeholders and customers
    • Leverage subject matter expert views in the design of analytics and algorithms


  • Use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic, and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis, and interpret data
  • Complex Problem Solving

    • Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions
    • Perform complex conceptual analyses


  • Leadership and Mentorship

    • Review the work of others and provide recommendations for improvement
    • Serve as a leader/mentor and motivate and inspire other team members


  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
  • Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of business intelligence or data analysis experience
  • Relevant experience in computer science, business intelligence, data analytics, or similar field
  • Experience detecting problems and creating high quality, data-driven solutions
  • Understand accounting controls, processes, and procedures
  • Expertise in programming languages like Python, R, and SQL
  • Knowledge of relational databases and ETL
  • Professional proficiency in data visualization tools
  • Proven advanced analytic, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Predictive modeling and forecasting experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications suite and other technical / database structure (i.e. Microsoft SQL, PeopleSoft, Smartview, SAS, Power BI, Tableau, Azure, Data Bricks, etc.)
  • Proven e xceptional communication skills to engage various audiences across the organization
  • Systematic and logical approach to problem-solving

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
