Job summary

UnitedHealthcare seeks a Data Analyst II to support end-to-end analytics—from design and development to testing and deployment. You’ll build reporting and visualization solutions, provide production support for scheduled and on-demand jobs, and translate business needs into SAS/PowerBI dashboards.

Requirements include a BS in a related field and 3 years in data analysis, with hands-on SAS, SQL, Oracle/Teradata, and ETL experience. This is an onsite role in Richardson, TX.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/IS/Data Science or related field with 3 years data analysis experience.
• Strong SAS, SQL and PowerBI experience; Python a plus.
• Experience with Oracle/Teradata and ETL pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and data visualization.

Job description

At UnitedHealthcare, the Data Analyst 2 role supports the end-to-end lifecycle of data analytics programs and processes, from design and development through testing and deployment. This position helps enable operational insights by building reporting and visualization solutions and providing ongoing production support for scheduled and on-demand jobs.

What you’ll do

• Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of data analytics programs and processes for operational data stores using SAS and relational databases (including Teradata, Snowflake, and Oracle).
• Provide production support for scheduled and ad-hoc processes, including addressing job failures, data issues, and user concerns.
• Collect, interpret, and aggregate data from traditional and non-traditional sources to support programs and applications.
• Translate data requirements and business needs into tools such as dashboards and data visualizations using SAS and PowerBI.
• Use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic, and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis, and interpret results.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed, and recognize problems to recommend solutions.
• Work on agile projects using the sprint model for delivery.
• Execute deliverables under minimal guidance while meeting tight deadlines.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a Data Analyst-related occupation (employer will accept this education and experience combination as stated).
• Experience using BASE SAS, SAS/Macros, Proc SQL, SAS Enterprise Guide, or SAS Studio.
• Data analysis experience with database technologies such as Oracle and Teradata.
• Ability to develop and write SQL queries for systems including Oracle, Teradata, Hive QL, and SAS.
• Working knowledge of database desktop tools such as DB Visualizer or DBeaver.
• Comfort using desktop code editors such as Notepad++ or Ultraedit.
• Experience with SFTP/SSH client tools such as WinSCP or Reflections SSH.
• Use of Unix command line tools such as Putty, Reflections SSH, or Ultraedit Command line utility.
• Experience with modern large-scale ETL data pipelines for data integration supporting reporting and analytics.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to develop data visualizations and dashboards using PowerBI.
• Programming experience using Python, NumPy, Pandas, and PyCharm.

Salary and location

• Pay: $99,299 - $133,920 per year
• Location: 1311 W President George Bush Hwy., Richardson, TX 75080 (onsite)
