Job description

Conduct data-based research at the intersection of public policy and corporate strategy, combining qualitative policy research, large-scale data processing, and structured classification of datasets. A data analyst will be involved in every part of a research project, from organizing and designing the collection of messy public information, to converting that information into structured datasets, to generating analysis with clearly articulated and evidenced findings, to presenting those findings to senior leadership of corporate clients.

Baron Public Affairs, LLC equips corporate and government leaders to anticipate and manage the threats and opportunities that shape the competitive landscape. Applying a methodology focused on mastering the strategic competition of interests, Baron advises some of the nation’s most prominent organizations, including members of the Fortune 10, several of America’s largest privately held businesses, and the U.S. Department of Defense.

APPLICATION

Interested candidates should submit an example of their work, cover letter, transcripts (official or unofficial), and a resume. The example of your work should demonstrate analytical skills and the ability to clearly convey quantitative analysis to a non-technical audience. The application deadline is July 7, with an expected start date between July and mid-September.

COMPENSATION

$80,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience.

Baron does not sponsor work visas and requires the ability to work in-person in Washington D.C.

  • Produce graphical representations of trends and other findings
  • Merge quantitative analysis with the qualitative expertise of team members to generate novel insights
  • Distill extensive analysis into key, actionable findings presented in dashboards, slide decks, and memos
REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS
  • A strong STEM background including proficiency in statistics and calculus
