Job summary

Florida Blue is seeking a Data Engineer & Analyst on a contract basis, working with GuideWell and Magnit to develop and maintain data reports and analytics across Access databases and data marts.

You will build ETL processes, create dashboards in Tableau, and present analyses to stakeholders to drive business decisions and improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years related work experience (or 1.5 years in Associate Data Engineer / Data Analytics).
• Experience building and maintaining reports from multiple data sources.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL using Toad, SSIS, and SQL Server procedures to create reports from Access databases.
• Oversee daily department reporting and translate business needs into data elements for sourcing and extraction.

Job description

This is a contract opportunity. You will be employed by Magnit to work on assignment with GuideWell and subsidiary companies including Florida Blue.

• The Data Engineer & Analyst works across IT and business functions to create and maintain custom reports and/or data files from multiple access databases and tables well helping drive business decision with business owners through development business comprehensive analyses.
• This role oversees the creation and daily running of mission critical departmental reporting for departmental metric results as well as design and develop Toad and SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and views. This role will provide presentations, documenting analyses, ensure understanding of the analysis with key stakeholder, and support on root causes of trends, issues, and performance gaps based on analyses as well as making and implementing recommendations to drive improvements.

Essential Functions

• Design and develop ETL using Toad and SQL Server stored procedures or other tools , functions, and views. Create and maintain custom reports and/or data files from multiple access databases.
• Provide oversight for the creation and daily running of mission critical departmental reporting for departmental metric results. Translate business needs to data elements in Access Databases and other data marts to source, extract, and match and modify data to enable reporting efforts.
• Create and maintain custom dashboards and/or data sources in Tableau and other reporting tools; Extract and aggregate data as needed for reporting.
• Develop reports and presentations documenting analyses and ensure that key stakeholders understand the business implications for those analyses.
• Identify, investigate, and document possible root causes of trends, issues, and performance gaps based on analyses and campaign results to determine improvements and recommendations. Perform exploratory data analysis, data cleansing, and data visualization using data mining tools.
