Job summary

Tiffin University is seeking a Data Analyst to collaborate with the Director of Institutional Research and campus offices to meet data demands, produce insightful reports, and monitor KPIs that inform university initiatives and outcomes.

The role requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years in higher education data work, and strong skills in Power BI and SQL. You will translate findings for non-technical audiences and help shape data-driven decisions across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the higher education field working with student information systems.
• Ability to translate and communicate data findings into non-technical terms.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and relational databases.
• Experience in creating data visualizations using Power BI.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in programming in SQL.

Responsibilities

• Foster teamwork and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, while maintaining professional integrity and confidentiality.
• Work collaboratively across the campus to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Create reports and assist in the analysis of data for various campus departments.
• Create graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data.
• Format/manipulate large data sets to find usable information.
• Create presentations and reports that are based on recommendations and findings.
• Process confidential data and information, following institutional guidelines.
• Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
• Support the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
• Troubleshoot the reporting database environment.
• Provide technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
• Coordinate all Title III data implementation and reporting strategies and execute those strategies over the course of the grant.

General Job Description for the Data Analyst:

The Data Analyst works collaboratively with the Director of Institutional Research as well as various offices to meet data demands and provide sound business decisions for Tiffin University. The Data Analyst duties include, but are not limited to, extracting data figures, creating reports based on their findings, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives' success.
