Job summary

Careertakes partners with a confidential client to fill a Data Analyst role in hybrid New York, NY. You will turn raw data into clear, actionable answers that inform product, risk, operations, and GTM decisions.

You will translate questions into analyses, run SQL against Snowflake, use Python and dbt to transform data, and communicate findings to cross-functional leadership. This role requires 2+ years of experience and a quantitative bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in data/analyst roles.
• Bachelor’s in a quantitative field.
• Strong SQL skills; Snowflake preferred.
• Python for data analysis (pandas, numpy).
• Experience with dbt or ETL/data transformation is a plus.
• Foundational statistics and ML concepts.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Collaborative with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Scientists to monitor production models and investigate anomalies.
• Support recurring model monitoring and investigate changes in outcomes.
• Communicate findings via data storytelling, visualizations, and presentations.

What You’ll Do

This role reports to the Data Science team at our confidential client and is highly cross-functional. You'll turn raw data into clear, actionable answers that inform product, risk, operations, and GTM decisions.

• Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and clear next steps
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and drivers
• Run ad-hoc analyses and experiments to evaluate hypotheses and inform decisions
• Write and optimize SQL queries against Snowflake for analytics and reporting
• Use Python and dbt to clean, transform, and model data for analysis
• Partner with Data Scientists to analyze and monitor production models and investigate anomalies
• Support recurring model monitoring processes and help investigate changes in model outcomes
• Communicate findings through data storytelling, visualizations, and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Synthesize analyses into concise reports and recommendations for cross-functional leadership

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or related quantitative role
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• Strong SQL skills; experience querying Snowflake preferred
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis (pandas, numpy, or similar)
• Experience with dbt, data modeling, or ETL/data transformation frameworks is a plus
• Foundational understanding of statistics and machine learning concepts
• Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to present findings to cross-functional audiences
• Collaborative mindset and experience working with product, operations, risk, or GTM teams

• Competitive base salary range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually

Workplace & Location
