Job summary

Metrc LLC, a leading cannabis regulatory tech provider, seeks a Data Analyst in Florida to join our Data & Analytics team. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-value analyses and actionable insights supporting regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include building dashboards with Tableau and Sigma, querying SQL databases, maintaining pipelines, and documenting data requirements.

Qualifications

• Four years or more experience with data analysis and analytics.
• Strong SQL proficiency and relational database interaction skills.
• Bachelor's degree in data analytics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with reporting tools (Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, Domo, Looker).
• ETL tool experience is favored but not required.
• AI and machine learning experience a plus, basic understanding.

• Create, develop, and deploy dashboards and reports using Tableau, Sigma, and other BI tools to meet business needs
• Examine complex data sets with SQL to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights guiding business decisions
• Administer BI platforms (Tableau Server, Sigma), managing users, permissions, automations, and content assets
• Regularly monitor and validate report data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability
• Curate and organize data for reporting, ensuring well-structured data that aligns with business requirements
• Maintain and optimize DBT pipelines to preserve data quality and transformation efficiency
• Document business requirements and develop specifications for needs requiring advanced data engineering
• Address BI tool inquiries and collaborate with training to facilitate user education
• Proactively explore new metrics within existing data to enhance analytics
• Maintain and publish organizational data dictionaries to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in data visualization and reporting

Role Summary

The Data Analyst is a key member of Metrc's Data and Analytics organization. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams across the company as well as external customers and partners. The Data and Analytics team delivers high-value analyses and actionable insights that support strategic decisions, operational efficiency, and compliance for a broad set of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and deploy dashboards and reports using Tableau, Sigma, and other BI tools to meet business needs
• Examine complex data sets with SQL to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights guiding business decisions
• Administer BI platforms (Tableau Server, Sigma), managing users, permissions, automations, and content assets

Qualifications

• Experience in supply chain or track-and-trace data analytics is preferred but not required
• Four years or more experience with data analysis and analytics
• Strong SQL proficiency and relational database interaction skills
• Bachelor's degree in data analytics or a related field, or equivalent experience. Other degrees are acceptable if a candidate has deep technical experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python, R to pair with data analytics experience
• Experience with reporting tools (ex: Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, Domo, Looker, etc.) is highly desirable
• Reporting tool development experience is favorable but not required
• ETL tool experience is favored but not required (ex: Alteryx, Tibco, Tray.Io, Workado, MuleSoft, Metallion, FiveTran)
• AI and machine learning experience a plus, basic understanding required
• Extensive Microsoft Excel experience (formulas, pivots, lookups), Visio a plus, and proficiency with the rest of the MS Office suite
• Basic understanding of client service; this role supports a commercial business, and the Data Analytics team at Metrc prides itself on treating customers as customers
