Job summary

Star Pipe Products is seeking a data-focused analyst/scientist to collect, clean, and preprocess data, and to develop dashboards in Tableau for stakeholders. The role supports data-driven BI initiatives and automates workflows with Power Apps in a fast-paced environment.

You will work across teams, handle Python and SQL tasks, and contribute to ML-based forecasting and optimization efforts for sales, inventory, and supply chain. Houston-based, on-site.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, MIS, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work across teams and collaborate between developers and end users.
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL in data analysis.
• Basic knowledge of Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
• Experience with Power Apps is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with machine learning concepts, algorithms, and techniques.

Responsibilities

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilize Fivetran and dbt to collect, clean, and preprocess data from multiple sources, ensuring the integrity and support of the data architecture in Snowflake.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations in Tableau to effectively communicate insights and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Drive data driven initiatives to improve efficiencies and business intelligence across the company
• Advance data collection and automation by supporting the expansion of MS PowerApps custom applications across various workflows
• Support the creation of advanced machine learning models that drive sales forecasting, inventory planning, production scheduling, and supply chain optimization, making data-driven decisions more precise and impactful

Education / Experience:

• 0-3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, MIS, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field

Knowledge / Skills Required:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work across teams and collaborate between developers and end users
• Hands-on, working knowledge with Python (e.g. Pandas, sklearn) and SQL in a data analysis capacity
