The Role

The Fellow would work under the supervision of a Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning expert to help analyze, draw conclusions from, and create communication materials and / or contribute to a peer-reviewed journal article for a program addressing climate resilience and health in Laos. Alternatively, similar work may be done for a study in Uganda addressing health care providers skills on newborn resuscitation. Specific duties may include: conducting a literature scan, interpreting qualitative and quantitative data, creating figures, tables, graphs or other representations of findings, contributing to writing sections of articles, and related work.

Location

Hybrid – Washington DC, Fairfield, CT or Lexington, KY office locations

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • not inclusive of all role responsibilities. May be subject to change
  • The Fellow will have the chance to work closely with the SCUS technical team as well as the country office team for the supported project.
  • The Fellow will have weekly meetings with supervisor and will receive feedback and support on the work.
  • At the end of the fellowship, the Fellow will present their work to a technical team and be recognized for their contribution.
  • The supervisor will take an active role in understanding the Fellow's professional goals and providing advice, contacts or resources as needed.

Note: the person would be supervised remotely, but arrangements can be made for in-office workspace.

Required Qualifications For The Role

  • Previous experience with social sciences research or qualitative research required
  • Understanding of coding and themes in qualitative analysis
  • Good ability to synthesize qualitative information and produce high-quality outputs
  • Experience with Canva preferred
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
