Job summary

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in IT, CS, IS, Data Science, or related technical field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be available for 10 weeks in Summer 2027 (May–August 2027) with graduation in 2027 or later.
• Interest in Corning, Inc. full-time opportunities after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Support development and enhancement of scalable data and AI platform capabilities.
• Contribute to software engineering activities using Python.
• Assist with platform growth, performance, reliability, and operational improvement needs.
• Work with Apache Spark and distributed computing concepts in support of data workloads.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and implementation activities.
• Collaborate with platform engineers and partner teams to understand technical requirements.
• Research tools, patterns, and practices that support platform scalability.
• Document technical solutions, workflows, and project outcomes.
