Job summary

Electronic Arts is seeking a Data and AI Engineering Intern for a hybrid in-office role based in Austin, TX. You will work within EA's Central Technology Organization on real-world enterprise AI use cases, delivering an end-to-end AI-first prototype using LLMs, RAG, and cloud data platforms.

You will design intelligent agents, collaborate with experienced AI practitioners, and demonstrate how AI-driven workflows create tangible business value.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Generative AI exposure through coursework or projects with ability to explain contributions and results.
• Agentic AI foundations: basic knowledge of RAG, embeddings, tool or function calling, structured outputs, or human-in-the-loop systems.
• Data engineering foundations: familiarity with Python, SQL, relational databases, APIs, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Agile mindset: self-directed learning, problem solving, curiosity, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI workflows: build and evaluate LLM or agent workflows using prompts, RAG, APIs, tool calling, and structured outputs.
• Build engineering components: develop Python and SQL parts, tools, and pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, validation, testing, and data quality checks.
• Ensure quality & safety: review AI outputs with mentors, implement safeguards, document decisions, and evaluate agent performance.
• Own a deliverable: define outcomes for a scoped agentic data-engineering use case and deliver a functional prototype.
• Collaborate & learn: participate in team meetings, pair programming, architecture reviews, and network with EA engineering and data teams.
