Job summary

Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) is seeking a Data and AI Engineer to own a data stack powering reporting and decision-making across its restaurant concepts. The role splits evenly between building and maintaining an AWS Redshift data warehouse and the AI layer on top, working with FP&A, Operations, and Marketing to deliver actionable insights.

You will be the first dedicated owner of this stack end-to-end, handling source APIs, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and AI-driven reporting for

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift or comparable DW (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple APIs.
• Hands-on experience with LLM/AI tooling and prompt design.
• Ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the AWS Redshift environment.
• Develop and manage ETL pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
• Model data schemas optimized for reporting and analytics.
• Monitor data quality and automate validation/alerts.
• Maintain data lineage, schemas, and access controls.
• Develop AI-driven reporting structures and an analytics agent.
