Job summary

Jobtailor in New York is seeking a field technician to support Advanced and Lead Technicians on diverse projects across commercial and residential environments.

You will install project-specific components and equipment, work with coaxial, fiber, and Cat5/6 cabling, read technical drawings, and help manage DAS systems while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction. Willingness to travel and adapt to varying schedules is required.

Qualifications

• Minimal 1 year of technical experience or related education/experience.
• Ability to learn new technology and interpret plans and bills of material.
• Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs.
• Ability to read technical drawings/schematics.
• Willingness to travel to support company needs.

Responsibilities

• Support Advanced/Lead Technicians during projects.

Job description

• Support Advanced/Lead Technicians during projects
• Install project-specific components and equipment according to manufacturer and company standards
• Assist with installation and support of coaxial, fiber, Cat 5/6, and other cable types in commercial and residential environments
• Use basic hand and power tools
• Work professionally at job sites
• Assist with installations in stadiums, motor speedways, hospitals, schools, office buildings, and multi-family homes
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and orderly tools
• Maintain customer confidence by performing outstanding work
• Oversee the health and performance of assigned DAS systems and ensure KPIs and Service Level Agreements are met
• Receive, act on, update, and resolve DAS trouble and service-request tickets
• Interface with Carrier and OEM resources
• Perform Engineering C&I as necessary
• Respond to service requests and alarms
• Work with market Project Managers to complete due outs
• Respond to the Managed Services team Manager as needed
• Prepare required reporting for project and managed-services teams
• Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs
• No direct reports

Requirements

• 1 year of technical experience, or a combination of related education/experience
• Willingness to learn new technology and design plans and bills of material
• Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to public safety and wireless communications technologies and equipment
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings/schematics
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, establish priorities, work independently and as part of a team, and proceed with objectives with some supervision

• Ability to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

• Ability to work first shift Monday–Friday, with occasional second- or third-shift work and weekends depending on project schedules
