This position is part of Apex's growing Technical Services Department and supports commercial, healthcare, education, government, public safety, and critical-infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated telecommunications professional with hands-on experience working with leading DAS manufacturers, cellular carrier systems, public safety radio networks, fiber optic infrastructure, and RF test equipment.

This is more than a basic installation role. The successful candidate should be able to troubleshoot, commission, and integrate complex wireless systems while maintaining the quality, safety, documentation, and customer-service standards expected by Apex, its customers, carriers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).

Install, integrate, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain DAS platforms from major OEMs, including Corning, SOLiD, JMA, ADRF, Comba, and similar systems.

Install and configure head-end equipment, remote units, fiber distribution equipment, DAS cabinets, power systems, antennas, splitters, couplers, taps, and monitoring equipment.

Support cellular DAS deployments involving AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, FirstNet, and other carrier requirements.

Coordinate system activation and acceptance testing with customers, carriers, OEM representatives, and project stakeholders.

Diagnose RF performance issues, communication faults, equipment alarms, fiber problems, and installation deficiencies.

Support system upgrades, expansions, preventive maintenance, and corrective service activities.

Install, integrate, and commission ERRCS/ERCES systems in accordance with approved design documents, project specifications, IFC, NFPA, and local AHJ requirements.

Install and configure bi-directional amplifiers (BDAs), donor antennas, indoor antennas, annunciators, battery backup systems, supervisory alarm interfaces, and related fiber and coaxial infrastructure.

Coordinate with fire alarm contractors and other trades for system monitoring and alarm interfaces.

Support grid testing, public safety acceptance testing, and AHJ inspections.

Troubleshoot and correct system deficiencies identified during testing or inspection.

Fiber, Cabling & Infrastructure

Install, terminate, label, and test single-mode and multimode fiber, coaxial cable, hybrid cable, category cabling, and related pathways.

Install grounding and bonding components in accordance with project requirements and manufacturer standards.

Perform fiber certification, optical loss testing, connector inspection, cleaning, and troubleshooting.

Maintain clean, organized, code-compliant, and serviceable installations.

RF Testing & Quality Assurance

Use spectrum analyzers, cable and antenna analyzers, PIM test equipment, fiber test equipment, signal generators, and other industry-standard tools.

Perform cable sweep testing, PIM testing, fiber certification, signal verification, commissioning, and site acceptance testing.

Compare field conditions and test results against approved designs, OEM requirements, project specifications, and acceptance criteria.

Identify risks or deficiencies early and communicate clear corrective-action recommendations.

Documentation, Coordination & Customer Support

Read and interpret DAS and ERRCS design packages, floor plans, riser diagrams, one-line diagrams, construction drawings, specifications, and RF documentation.

Complete daily field reports, test records, commissioning reports, redlines, punch lists, photographs, and closeout documentation accurately and promptly.

Provide Project Managers and Engineers with accurate field conditions, progress updates, material needs, schedule concerns, and technical information.

Coordinate professionally with customers, general contractors, inspectors, subcontractors, carriers, OEM representatives, AHJs, and internal Apex personnel.

Mentor junior technicians and installers when assigned.
