Job summary

Mobile Communications America, Inc. seeks an Advanced DAS Technician in the Richmond, VA area to support the In-Building Wireless Solutions (IWS) team.

The role involves installing and configuring DAS hardware, ensuring optimal coverage and network performance for end users, and providing hands-on maintenance to keep systems reliable. You will work with Lead Technicians on diverse sites, read design plans and BOMs, and troubleshoot DAS networks while upholding safety and customer service

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of RF Cellular and Public Safety BDA DAS experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret design plans and BOMs.
  • Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies in wireless communications.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lead Technicians on projects with duties mentioned below: installing RF Cellular and Public Safety BDA DAS equipment per specs.
  • Configuring DAS components to optimize wireless coverage and capacity.
  • Performing routine maintenance to ensure DAS reliability and performance.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical problems with DAS equipment and networks.
  • Providing technical support to customers, end-users and stakeholders.
  • Assisting in installations across diverse buildings.
  • Maintaining professional conduct at all job sites.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean work area and customer confidence.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • Supporting Lead Technicians during projects with duties mentioned below:
    • Installing RF Cellular and Public Safety BDA DAS equipment, including antennas, cabling, amplifiers, and other related hardware, in accordance with design specifications and industry standards.
    • Configuring DAS components to optimize wireless coverage and capacity, ensuring seamless connectivity for end-users.
    • Displaying proficiency and quality during the installation of project-specific tasks consistent with manufacturer and company standards.
    • Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing reliability and performance of DAS systems.
    • Diagnosing and resolving technical problems with DAS equipment and networks.
    • Providing technical support to customers, end-users, and other stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the completion of installations within a diverse range of buildings.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work professionally at all job sites.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Maintaining customer confidence by performing outstanding work.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
  • A minimum of 3 years of technical experience in RF Cellular and Public Safety BDA DAS space.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies in public safety and wireless communications and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand design plans and bills of material.
  • Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, establish priorities, work independently as part of a team, and proceed with objectives with some supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with using a PPC connector tool for installing ½” coax connectors.
  • Lead technical background.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate professionally.
  • Proven track record of reliability, integrity, and responsibility.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.

On-call for critical systems, maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
