Job description

Title: Cable Technician

The cable technician is responsible for the installation, modification, repair, and maintenance of DAS cabling. This includes the physical installation of cabling, overseeing the work of others, surveying work sites to determine the best installation practices, coordinating workflow within the unit, acting as a company liaison, and providing on-the-job training to other technicians as needed.

Installation of DAS Equipment

1. Installation of DAS Components: Install and configure RFS and JMA Wireless DAS components such as antennas, cables, remote units (RUs), base station controllers (BSC), and other related hardware.
2. Cable Routing: Run and secure coaxial, fiber optic, and other cables through ceilings, walls, and conduits to connect DAS components.
3. Antenna Installation: Install antennas at required locations (e.g., rooftops, inside ceilings), ensuring proper alignment and performance.
4. Equipment Mounting: Mount and secure various DAS equipment on racks or other hardware.

Additional responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure, performing maintenance on existing cabling systems, testing newly installed or relocated cables according to company specifications, removing redundant cabling, and installing televisions, routers, and internet technology devices. Troubleshooting cable network issues and installing support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct are also part of the role.

Skills

Proficiency in Cat6, cable puller, low voltage, punch down, cable installation, OSP, Cat5, structured cabling.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility for benefits depends on job classification and employment length, and benefits may include:
