Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BDA and DAS Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a Level 3 iBwave certification and have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in Public Safety & Cellular DAS design. This role involves the design, planning, and implementation of in-building wireless solutions, ensuring optimal coverage and capacity for our clients. The successful candidate will utilize iBwave Design software to design Cellular LTE/5G as well as IFC and NFPA compliant in-building wireless systems that will supplement radio services to buildings, tunnels, and other structures for law enforcement, security and commercial applications.

Responsibilities
  • Design, planning, and implementation of in-building wireless solutions (DAS) to ensure coverage and capacity for clients.
  • Use iBwave Design software to design Cellular LTE/5G, IFC and NFPA compliant in-building wireless systems.
  • Collaborate with MSI Direct Sales and Channel Partners; participate in design reviews, requirements gathering and training with customers.
  • Travel to customer sites to assist with troubleshooting, diagnostics and resolution of DAS coverage issues.
  • Provisioning, commissioning, integration and troubleshooting of DAS systems.
  • Interface with vendors and internal teams; contribute to technical writing and project documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Bi-directional amplifiers and active DAS technologies and testing equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Level 3 iBwave certification required.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Cellular and PSS DAS design.
  • Proficiency in using iBwave Enterprise design software.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles and wireless communication technologies.
  • Experience with antennas, amplifiers, fiber optic cables, and other DAS components.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with in-building DAS design for P25 public safety and LMR systems (700/800 MHz, UHF, VHF).
  • Experience with off-air Part 20 Cellular RF source designs, Direct Connect single carrier and Multi-carrier (Neutral Host) designs.
  • Experience with small, large, and very large venue DAS design (Hospitals, prisons, multi-story buildings, stadiums).
  • Familiarity with DAS provisioning, commissioning, integration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with RF test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generators, TDR, OTDR, PIM).
  • Experience with fiber optic and coaxial cable installation and interpreting cable test results.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Strong technical writing skills and customer-facing presentation abilities.
  • Google Workspace experience (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and network certifications; PMI/PMBOK or PMP experience a plus.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
