Job summary

The Washington County TN School District seeks a dedicated Athletics Coach at Daniel Boone High School to lead football and other sports, supervise practices, and foster athlete development, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include holding tryouts, assigning team positions, creating practice schedules, coaching players on rules and techniques, monitoring academic eligibility, maintaining equipment and records, and communicating with administrators about performance and policies.

Qualifications

• Not less than a high school education or general equivalency diploma.
• Meets necessary health and physical qualifications.
• At least one year of experience is preferred, but not required, with appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Holds tryouts for team prospects and encourages students to participate.
• Assesses skills and determines team members and assigns team positions.
• Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time for individual and team development.
• Coaches and instructs players on the rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility.
• Models sportsmanship and reflects appropriate conduct towards players, staff, officials, and spectators.
• Communicates with the Principal and Athletic Director regarding policies and performance.
• Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, physicals, equipment/uniform inventory, and related records.
