Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre in New York, NY seeks experienced Dance Teaching Artists for the 2026-27 school year. Qualified candidates should be available 1–5 days weekly and have a professional dance background with NYC public schools or similar settings. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • At least 1-5 days per week available between 8am-3pm (in-school programs) and/or 2:30pm-6pm (after-school programs).
  • Experience in a variety of dance forms such as Hip Hop, African, Latin, K-Pop, Step, Bollywood, Jazz, Modern, early childhood dance and more.
  • Professional dance background and experience teaching in NYC public schools (or similar settings) with elementary, middle, and/or high school populations.
  • Choreographic experience in a variety of settings for youth.
  • Spanish, Mandarin, and Arabic speakers a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead in-school or after-school dance programs in public schools throughout NYC.
  • Auditions and prep involved; teach substantive technical dance skills and movement vocabulary.
  • Nurture creative expression while managing pacing/flow and scaffolding skill building.
