Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre in New York, NY is seeking experienced Dance Teaching Artists for the 2026-27 school year.

You will lead in-school or after-school programs across NYC, with rates starting at $45 per hour and included time for curriculum development and professional growth. Qualified candidates should have diverse dance experience and a professional background teaching youth in NYC public schools.

Qualifications

• 1–5 days per week availability between 8am–3pm (in-school) and/or 2:30pm–6pm (after-school)
• Experience in multiple dance forms such as Hip Hop, African, Latin, K-pop, Step, Bollywood, Jazz, Modern, etc.
• Professional dance background and teaching experience in NYC public schools (or similar youth settings)
• Choreographic experience in varied settings for youth
• Spanish, Mandarin, and Arabic language skills a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead in-school or after-school dance programs across NYC public schools.
• Plan, choreograph, and deliver age-appropriate lessons.
• Prepare audition content and participate in auditing and professional development activities.
• Collaborate with school staff and program coordinators to support student learning.
