About Academy Of Visual And Performing Arts
Academy of Visual and Performing Arts is a 6-12th grade, tuition-free public charter school for students in Fort Worth, Texas. Our mission is to provide a safe, challenging learning environment that cultivates our students' academic and artistic excellence. We exist to ensure that all students are provided with equitable opportunities to Learn In The Arts and Learn Through The Arts.

Start Date: This is a pool position. The start date depends on when a vacancy opens. We encourage you to apply as we will interview and hold your candidacy until an opening becomes available.

Type: Full-time, generally 7:45 am - 4:45 pm, with flexibility for after-hours and start-up environment adjustments.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans fulfilling curriculum and program requirements, including assessments and differentiation.
  • Prepare lessons accommodating diverse learning styles.
  • Provide instruction fostering intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
  • Utilize instructional strategies and materials to meet diverse student needs.
  • Follow guidelines established by TEA, policies, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with special education staff for curriculum modifications per IEPs.
  • Participate in goal setting and instructional planning with staff.
  • Assist in selecting instructional resources.
  • Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
Student Growth & Development
  • Use formative and summative assessments to measure mastery.
  • Analyze data to improve instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and assessments.
  • Manage standardized testing roles and data security.
Classroom Management
  • Create a conducive learning environment.
  • Implement student-centered discipline strategies.
  • Set and monitor behavior expectations.
  • Ensure safety and proper precautions.
Communication
  • Maintain open communication with staff, students, parents, and community.
  • Foster team building and professionalism.
  • Conduct conferences and maintain relationships.
Professional Development
  • Collaborate on professional learning and arts-integrated projects.
  • Participate in staff development activities.
Additional Duties
  • Comply with regulations and policies.
  • Maintain required reports and documentation.
  • Attend meetings and serve on committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or accepted alternative certification.
  • Secondary or All-Level Dance Certification preferred.
  • Ability to lead and influence high standards.
  • Strong learning orientation and adaptability.
