Job summary

KIPP Harmony Academy in Baltimore is seeking a dedicated Dance Teacher to ignite a passion for movement and the performing arts. You will plan, implement, and reflect on instruction to help students master essential dance technique, choreography, and performance skills while building essential social-emotional competencies.

Work with grade-level teams, the enrichment department, and the Principal to design engaging, standards-aligned units, assess progress with data, and direct school-wide

Qualifications

• Dance Education certification (PreK–12), or willingness to become certified.
• Eligible for hire by Baltimore City Public Schools.
• Two years of dance teaching or professional/performance experience (Strongly Preferred).
• Passion for working with students from historically resilient communities.

Responsibilities

• Hold high expectations for all students and foster artistic, physical, and personal growth through dance.
• Set class and individual goals, assess technique, creativity, and performance to track progress.
• Design data-driven assessments to inform instruction and growth.
• Apply knowledge of dance technique, choreography, and movement styles across genres.
• Demonstrate mastery of grade-level standards and align instructional plans.
• Develop long-term plans and units using backward design for student mastery.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs and abilities.
• Implement and reinforce school-wide culture and management policies.
