Job Purpose

As a Dance Teacher, you will inspire students by providing opportunities to learn and perform in two or more dance styles such as ballet, jazz, modern, theater, or tap. You will teach dance techniques, terminology, and basic choreography, fostering a love for dance and supporting student development.

Responsibilities
  1. Present subject matter to maximize student learning.
  2. Review student records to understand individual abilities and needs.
  3. Strive to enhance each student's educational achievement.
  4. Utilize various learning modalities and diagnostic assessments.
  5. Maintain accurate student records and generate progress reports.
  6. Refer students with learning difficulties to support staff.
  7. Assign lessons, correct student work, and prepare students for performances.
  8. Coordinate class activities and field trips.
Classroom Environment
  1. Create a safe, engaging, and conducive learning environment.
  2. Display student work and maintain classroom order and cleanliness.
  3. Implement policies on student conduct and behavior.
Instructional Planning
  1. Develop lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
  2. Design activities tailored to student needs.
  3. Prepare adequately for each class and participate in curriculum planning.
Community Relations
  1. Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  2. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
  3. Participate in extracurricular activities and school events.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid teaching certification (if applicable).
  • At least 1 year of dance instruction experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Student Information Systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Creative, proactive, and committed to high-quality teaching.
