POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Dance Instructor to lead classes for members of all ages and skill levels. The instructor will create a safe, welcoming environment and work under the guidance of the Regional Programming Director and Family Center Operations Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Plan and teach dance classes, including studio setup and cleanup
  2. Develop tailored lesson plans for students
  3. Assess student progress and provide feedback
  4. Maintain a clean and organized studio
  5. Offer individualized instruction and guidance
  6. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  7. Participate in staff meetings and professional development
  8. Follow all safety regulations
  9. Attend meetings as scheduled
  10. Incorporate YMCA core values and adhere to the Code of Conduct
  11. Promote the Y mission and objectives within the community
  12. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate must meet the Y in Central Maryland's qualifications, demonstrating good character, responsibility, and effective communication skills. Minimum requirements include:

  1. Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  2. Current CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certification (or within 30 days of hire)
  3. Completion of YMCA New Staff Orientation and 6 hours of child abuse prevention training
  4. At least 21 years of age
