Primary Purpose

Job Description

May be asked to teach days, evenings, hybrid/online and in the dual enrollment program. Online/hybrid teaching requires additional campus‑based training.

Special Requirements

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration. Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts. All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions. Evaluations of foreign degrees and/or course work are required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis
  • or Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in physical education, any life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts or music
  • or possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area; or the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrated success in helping arts students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
