Job description

Entering our 33rd season, the YMCA Creative Arts Center is a unique program in Pickaway County that offers dance, baton, art, and theatre instruction to the community. We are seeking a talented dance and/or baton instructor to join our staff for the 2023-2024 season.

We provide exceptional instruction in a positive and confidence-building environment, with a focus on technique, friendship, and success in extracurricular activities.

The right candidate will have:

  • previous experience in the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and/or baton
  • previous teaching experience preferred, but not required
  • good references
  • the ability to work well with children
  • Must be available evenings. Our instructors also work three performances per season and occasional weekend rehearsals.
  • Additional teaching opportunities may be available

QUALIFICATIONS:

Passionate belief in the Y’s cause of nurturing the potential of all youth, supporting healthy living for all people, and finding ways to help and support our neighbors.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification must be obtained within the first 60 days.

Must be at least 16 years old and have experience participating in the area of instruction; previous experience instructing preferred.
