Job summary

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco seeks a part-time Dance Instructor to teach ninth-grade dance, introducing contemporary and ballet techniques. The class meets twice weekly from 8:00 to 9:15am and may extend to 60% FTE with additional duties.

Responsibilities include designing lessons to foster embodied creativity, assessing student progress, maintaining electronic records, and supporting advisory and cocurricular activities within SHC's inclusive Lasallian tradition.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Dance, Fine Arts, or related field, or comparable professional training.
• Experience working with students (preferably middle school and/or high school aged).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to promote student learning.
• Ability to teach beginning and intermediate dance class levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach ninth-grade dance class twice weekly from 8:00 to 9:15am.
• Design and implement lessons to foster physical expression and embodied creativity.
• Provide formative and summative assessments to track learning targets.
• Maintain an interactive learning environment in person and virtually.
• Communicate with students, parents, and school personnel.
• Keep electronic grading and attendance records up to date.
• Support the advisory program and cocurricular activities.
• Engage in professional learning and DEIB initiatives.
