Job summary

Think Together is seeking a Dance Teacher to deliver standards-based dance instruction to TK-8 students in Santa Maria. The role involves collaborative planning with staff, preparing engaging lessons, and aligning with the California VAPA framework to foster creativity and personal growth.

Hours are Monday through Friday, pay is $30 per hour, and a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in dance is required. Evening performances may be part of duties and the environment supports student learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 2+ years of practical/professional experience in dance.
• Experience teaching in TK-8 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach lessons aligned to the California VAPA Content Standards in Dance.
• Provide sequential instruction using discipline-specific techniques and practices.
• Collaborate with staff to plan performances, showcases, or exhibitions.
• Attend meetings and events requiring student supervision.
• Develop lesson plans and scaffolded materials for diverse learners.
