Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation is seeking an Activity Specialist to design, implement, and facilitate engaging activities for K–8 students in a school-based afterschool program. You will supervise participants, support youth development, and ensure alignment with DYCD, DOH, and DOE guidelines.

The role emphasizes creativity, fostering academic growth, social-emotional development, trauma-informed practice, and collaboration with staff to tailor activities for multilingual and diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience with youth in education setting.
• Experience designing and facilitating structured activities for K–8.
• Knowledge of youth development, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed practice.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain; OCFS/DYCD training compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and facilitate age-appropriate activities for students in grades K–8.
• Supervise participants and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Deliver Arts, STEM, Literacy, Recreation, and Enrichment activities.
• Ensure alignment with DYCD, DOH, and DOE guidelines.
