Job summary

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher operating company, seeks a DBS Leader for Hardware Operations in the Chaska, MN plant. The role drives DBS-enabled continuous improvement, coaching teams, and leading strategic initiatives to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.

You will report to the Sr Director of Production Operations and work on-site, traveling up to 10% to other Danaher sites for development and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience, or Master’s with 7+ years, or Doctoral with 5+ years; 4+ years in Lean Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, or Operations is required.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor associates and teams across levels, from production to Sr. Leaders.
• Experience leading change initiatives and driving adoption of new processes within manufacturing/operations.
• Experience navigating ambiguity, prioritizing demands, and making sound decisions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply DBS tools to drive transformative change and improve KPI’s in the Hardware Operations Plant.
• Participate in Daily Management to identify actions and solve problems.
• Coach and mentor work teams to build sustainable processes that deliver KPI improvements.
• Collaborate with others, seek feedback, and take initiative for corrective actions.
• Lead root-cause analysis at Gemba and drive Kaizen activities.

The Danaher Business System Leader Manager, Hardware is responsible for driving a robust understanding and application of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools across the team and driving short and long term business objectives within Hardware Operations. You will partner with cross functional leaders to drive business results and increase DBS capability and culture.

This role is designed for experienced Production, Operations, and Manufacturing leaders who have successfully driven continuous improvement within their organizations and are looking to deepen their DBS expertise. You'll work closely with site leadership, lead strategic improvement initiatives, and coach teams through transformational change. In this role, you'll have a direct impact on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity performance while supporting the operational excellence that helps Beckman Coulter deliver life-changing diagnostic solutions to patients worldwide. This position reports to the Sr Director of Production Operations and is part of the Hardware Manufacturing plant located in Chaska, MN, and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Apply DBS tools to drive transformative change to improve KPI’s in the Hardware Operations Plant
• actively participate in Daily Management to take action and solve problems
• coach and mentor work teams to build sustainable processes that deliver on KPI’s
• Apply DBS to collaborate with others, asking for feedback and reacting constructively; take initiative and accountability for corrective measures
• Collect Gemba evidence and participate actively in Kaizen
• Lead others in getting to root cause at Gemba
• Sets and delivers on goals for self that are challenging and aspirational within the scope of available resources to support growth and DBS capability targets
• Include DBS in development plans and engage as a Certified Practitioner for DBS tools
• Mentor peers and modify behavior based on feedback to enhance impact

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience, or Doctoral degree with 5+ years of experience 4+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, or Operations is required.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor associates and teams of various levels, from production associates to Sr. Leaders
• Demonstrated experience leading change initiatives and driving adoption of new processes, systems, or ways of working within a manufacturing or operations environment
• Experience navigating ambiguity, prioritizing competing demands, and making sound decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel to other Danaher Operating Companies for own development and to drive continuous improvement at other locations - up to 10% travel

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Achieved Certified Practitioner or similar certifications in applicable DBS tools (SW, 5S, TPI, PSP, VSM)

The annual salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
