Job summary
Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Dams Engineering Manager to lead high‑stakes dam and hydropower projects across the Northwest, West Coast and Southwest regions. This role requires mentoring junior staff, delivering high‑quality design products, and coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams to meet client needs.
The position emphasizes leadership with a strong technical foundation in hydraulics, civil/structural design, and regulatory familiarity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and professional licensure; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements.
- Experience with dams and hydropower projects is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects involving dams, spillways, hydropower structures and related hydraulic works.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Develop design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Support business development activities for pursuit opportunities.
- Coordinate site visits and client interactions to resolve design issues.
