Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer in Denver, Colorado. You will lead complex structural analyses, guide design of hydraulic structures, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, innovative water/ infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years structural engineering experience related to building design.
• Professional Engineer license (PE/P.Eng) recognized by licensing board.
• Experience with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar.
• Experience in design calculations and layouts.
• Ability to design and detail steel, concrete, masonry and wood.
• Understanding of gravity and lateral analysis.
• Experience in engineering consulting environment.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Supervise or conduct structural analyses including linear and nonlinear FEA; develop design options or recommendations.
• Lead, assist with, or oversee contract documents including drawings, specs, criteria, and costs.
• Lead design of hydraulic structures and related features (dams, spillways, etc.).
• Perform engineering assignments requiring critical thinking for unique structural elements.
• Coordinate structural design with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Work as project manager and mentor staff; expand HDR's structural services.
• Review tasks to ensure complete design checks.
