Hastings ISD 200 is seeking a Dakota Language Teacher to educate students in the Dakota language and culture. The position includes teaching at Hastings Middle School and Hastings High School, with a focus on language revitalization and cultural pride.

The ideal candidate will develop engaging lessons, collaborate with community members, and support students' linguistic and cultural growth. Experience teaching Indigenous languages and understanding of Dakota community practices are key to this role.

Qualifications

• Fluency in the Dakota language (speaking and listening; reading/writing preferred).
• Valid MN teaching license or eligibility for Dakota or American Indian Language and Culture.
• Experience developing curriculum and assessments is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Develop and deliver high-quality instruction in Dakota language.
• Integrate Dakota culture and community practices into lessons.
• Monitor and assess student progress in language proficiency.
