Job summary

Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is seeking a Cultural Interpreter to conduct tours, on-site and outreach programs, camps and workshops, and to integrate STEAM-based educational activities for schools and youth organizations.

You will deliver engaging programming that highlights Dakota language and Lifeways, collaborate with SMSC departments on culturally relevant projects, and create a dynamic visitor experience for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred in Dakota-related field or education.
• 1 year experience in education at a multidisciplinary museum or cultural organization.
• Excellent public speaking and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, conducts tours, on-site and outreach programs, camps and workshops; utilize STEAM-based educational programs for schools and youth organizations.
• Leads collaborative opportunities with schools and partners to broaden education and outreach programs under supervision.
