Job summary

Hy-Vee in Minnesota seeks a Dairy Clerk to rotate and replenish merchandise, maintain high quality, and deliver courteous customer service in the Dairy department. You will greet customers, assist with finding products, handle loading/unloading, and help keep the department clean and organized.

The role requires physical work, ability to follow directions, and a commitment to a positive store image. Night and weekend shifts are possible, with a starting hourly wage between $11.41 and $14.00

Qualifications

• Ability to provide courteous, friendly customer service in a fast-paced store.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• M akes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to the products they're looking for, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Rotates and replenishes merchandise and ensures highest quality standards are met.
• Unloads trucks and places product in appropriate storage area.
• Faces merchandise.
• Ensures cleanliness in the department, cleans off the cases, sweeps the floor, etc.
• Builds end caps display and fills through the week as necessary.
• Orders product and supply that is requested by department manager
• Maintains storage area is organized and temperature is correct.
• Maintains personal hygiene and dress in line with guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Education

Less than high school or equivalent experience and six months or less of similar or related experience.
