Job summary

A Dairy RNG Plant Operator will monitor and maintain systems converting dairy manure into pipeline-quality gas at our Michigan site. Responsibilities include overseeing digesters, gas upgrading equipment, and performing preventative maintenance on compressors and pumps while staying on-call for emergencies.

You will gather and analyze data, ensure safety compliance, and interact with farm staff to optimize production and maintain site standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–5 years in industrial operations, power generation, oil/gas, or high-pressure gas processing.
• Knowledge of gas flow, instrumentation (4-20mA), PLC systems, and mechanical repair.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust dairy-based anaerobic digesters and gas processing equipment to maintain gas flow and quality.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ensure safety compliance with environmental regulations and SOPs, including H2S handling.
• Respond to alarms, troubleshoot PLC systems, and rectify equipment malfunctions.
• Record and analyze operating data (pressure, temperature, gas composition) to optimize performance.
• Maintain site cleanliness and coordinate with farm staff.
