Job summary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation in Michigan seeking an experienced Breeder / Assistant Herdsman to support reproduction and herd health programs.

You will administer synchronization protocols, perform artificial insemination on cows and heifers, and maintain breeding records with herd management software, while collaborating with the Herd Manager and veterinarian.

Qualifications

• Experience with artificial insemination (A.I.) is required.
• Strong knowledge of dairy reproduction including heat detection, synchronization protocols, and hormone administration.
• Ability to breed high volumes of cows while maintaining conception rates and accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Administer synchronization and reproduction protocols.
• Perform artificial insemination on cows and heifers.
• Maintain breeding records using herd management software.
• Monitor herd health, assist with calvings, and support hospital/fresh cow groups as needed.
