Job summary

Select Milk Producers, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to perform analytical and microbiological testing on raw, pasteurized, and final dairy products.

The role requires strict adherence to USDA, FDA, AOAC, GFSI, GMP, and safety regulations, with supervision to build proficiency. The technician will operate lab equipment, conduct daily quality checks, prepare media, and maintain orderly workflows while escalating issues to a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework in a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of dairy QA practices and laboratory testing standards.
• Ability to follow SOPs, safety rules, and GMP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory testing equipment and perform analytical and microbiological tests.
• Perform daily quality checks and audits under supervision.
• Accurately complete worksheets and logs, electronic or paper.
• Prepare solutions, media, and sample compositing for third‑party testing.
• Follow safety, GMP, and laboratory protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory work area.
• Escalate unusual results or product defects to a supervisor.
• Participate in basic training and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
