Job summary

Michigan State University is seeking a Food Processing Technician to assist in the production and packaging of dairy products at the MSU Dairy Foods Complex and FPIC. You will operate processing equipment, monitor quality and sanitation, and help ensure compliance with GMPs and HACCP principles in a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Knowledge equivalent to one year of college or technical training in dairy technology.
Six months to one year of related experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Equivalent combination of education and experience and basic computer/ email skills.
Prior training or experience in GMPs and SSOPs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Assist in production of dairy and food products in a fast-paced plant.
Operate, monitor, and adjust processing equipment per formulations and schedules.
Maintain GMPs, sanitation standards, and food safety protocols.
Record production data, batch logs, and equipment performance metrics.
Support preventive maintenance and changeovers as needed.
