Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company is hiring for a Pasteurizer/Batcher in Phoenix. You will ensure products meet recipes and pasteurize to meet quality standards, following GMPs and PPE guidelines.

The role involves rotating 12-hour overnight shifts (4 days one week, 3 days the next) with an every-other-Wednesday off, plus duties to maintain safety and product integrity across the line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6+ months in manufacturing, dairy or related field preferred.
• Forklift certified or willing to become certified.
• Fluency in English; ability to read and write.
• Able to work in cold and wet environment for prolonged periods.
• Must work in temperature-controlled zones from cold to hot.
• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude; can work in tight spaces.
• Operate equipment at recommended speeds; report defects.
• Flexible and willing to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Frequent reach up to 31–77 inches.

Responsibilities

• Measure ingredients, mix, and batch products to meet recipe guidelines.
• Take inventory and record lot numbers of ingredients used.
• Pasteurize and homogenize products; send to correct tanks or tankers.
• Run tests for butterfat and total solids.
• Set up tanks and CIP circuits; test chemicals; adjust as needed.
• Maintain clean equipment and comply with SOPs and QA standards.
• Document information clearly; complete paperwork as required.
• Follow GMPs and wear PPE; ensure food safety and quality.

Plus, a $2 shift differential for nights.

Shift Details:This is an overnight shift (Wednesday to Saturday).Our schedule follows a rotating 4/3 pattern with 12-hour shifts from 4:00 PM-4:00 AM. You'll work 4 days one week and 3 days the next, providing every other Wednesday off.

Summary:

The Pasteurizer/Batcher is responsible for ensuring all products are prepared according to recipes. (S)he will process and pasteurize ensuring that all products meet customer, state and federal guidelines.

Follow all required work safe practices. This would include compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

• Measure ingredients, mix ingredients, and batch products to meet recipe guidelines
• Take inventory and record lot numbers of ingredients used.
• Expertly execute the pasteurizing process including homogenization.
• Operate pasteurizing systems sending product to correct tanks or tankers
• Run tests for butterfat and total solids
• Set up tanks and line circuits for CIP, test chemicals and adjust as needed.
• Once completed reassemble items so they are ready for use.
• Keep all support equipment clean to meet state and federal guidelines.
• Perform basic maintenance and replace parts on the equipment as necessary
• Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
• Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs
• Follow Quality Assurance standards and collect required samples, as needed, for Quality Assurance testing.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.
• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 6+ months in manufacturing, dairy or another related field preferred
• Forklift certified or willing to become certified
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Fluency in English; ability to communicate when necessary to complete duties; read and write
• Ability to work in cold and wet environment for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to work in various temperature-controlled zones ranging from cold to hot
• Demonstrates a mechanical aptitude and can work and maneuver in tight and awkward areas and positions.
• Ability to operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise.
• Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to frequently reach up to 31-77 inches.
