Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks a Dairy Processing professional to operate all fluid processing and ice cream manufacturing, including the regulated milk testing laboratory. Responsibilities include inventory, processing, record keeping, storage and shipment of production, and ensuring compliance with SCDHEC, FDA and USDA guidelines.

Extended hours may be required during peak seasons or emergencies; this essential position must be manned during state or agency emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and relevant program experience.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate all fluid processing and ice cream manufacturing systems, including the regulated milk testing laboratory.
• Manage inventory, processing, record keeping, storage and shipment of all production including surplus raw milk products.
• Ensure compliance with state (SCDHEC) and federal (FDA & USDA) regulatory guidelines.
• Extend work hours during peak seasons and emergencies to support dairy and other operations.
• The Agriculture Division Director deems this position essential and it must be manned during any state or agency emergencies.

Education
