Job summary

State of South Carolina Agriculture Division seeks a Dairy Processing Operator to manage the day-to-day operation of fluid processing and ice cream manufacturing, including a regulated milk testing laboratory.

The role covers inventory, processing, record keeping, storage and shipment of production and surplus milk products, with compliance to SCDHEC, FDA, and USDA guidelines. Extended hours may be required, and the position is essential during emergencies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate fluid processing and ice cream manufacturing facilities, including a regulated milk testing laboratory.
• Manage inventory, processing, record keeping, storage and shipment of all production and surplus raw milk products.
• Ensure compliance with state (SCDHEC) and federal (FDA & USDA) guidelines.
• Be prepared for extended work hours during peak seasons or emergencies; position is essential.
• Complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
